Important Advisory for Rooftop Solar Users This New Year – From Genso Solar ⚠️

Attention All Genso Solar Customers and Rooftop Solar Owners in Sri Lanka:

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has officially requested that all on-grid rooftop solar systems be switched off during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year holidays to ensure stability of the national power grid during this period of reduced demand.

πŸ”Œ Why is this necessary?
During the Avurudu season, national electricity demand drops significantly. With thousands of households on leave and many industries paused, excess electricity from solar systems can lead to grid overvoltage, causing disruptions and technical issues. This is why CEB has advised temporary shutdowns.

πŸ›  What Should You Do?

βœ… If you are a Genso Solar on-grid user, please switch off your inverter manually from April 13th to April 16th or as advised by local electricity officials.

βœ… If you are unsure how to do this, please contact our support team for guidance.

πŸ•’ When Can You Turn It Back On?

You may resume normal operations after the holiday period, once demand returns to normal and the CEB or your local electricity provider has confirmed it’s safe to reconnect.
