The Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SLSEA) has introduced updated technical standards for solar panel imports and installations. These new regulations aim to ensure long-term durability, better performance, and environmental safety. Genso Power already complies with these upgraded standards, ensuring our customers get high-efficiency panels with reliable warranties and certified installations.
Sri Lanka has surpassed 600MW in installed solar capacity, according to recent reports from the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SLSEA). This growth comes as part of the ‘Battle for Solar Energy’ initiative launched by the government to promote rooftop solar among households and industries. As energy demands rise across the country, solar has become a reliable alternative to reduce fossil fuel imports. At Genso Power, we welcome this progress and encourage communities to continue embracing sustainable energy options for a greener tomorrow.
India and Sri Lanka have officially launched two major solar power projects in Sampur, Trincomalee. The total capacity of 120MW is being developed with the support of India’s NTPC and Sri Lanka’s Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB). These projects aim to reduce Sri Lanka’s dependency on fossil fuels while strengthening regional energy collaboration. Thousands of homes are expected to benefit from clean electricity, and this development is also expected to generate new jobs in the eastern region. This milestone is part of Sri Lanka’s broader goal to derive 70% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030. Genso Power supports this transition and encourages the use of solar technology for a sustainable energy future.
